We believe sports and physical activity make lasting impacts on individuals and communities. Not only does participation in sports at a young age lead to healthier and more active lifestyles, it helps kids learn valuable lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship and the value of working toward a common goal. Active kids are also healthier kids. On average, active kids perform better in school, are more likely to be active adults and are less likely to have weight or other health problems.
Daily physical education in schools has been replaced with nine week modules and recess has almost been completely eliminated in the schools. Kids have so many other distractions like video games, computers and cell phones, that the benefits of being physically active are being lost on an entire generation that now can even farm on-line. No wonder childhood obesity in the US has reached epidemic proportions.
MySport was created for the purpose of providing after-school, camps and clinic programs where being active is fun and cool. By exposing kids to a variety of activities and sports with coaches who understand their development needs, MySport helps build a foundation in physical literacy that benefits kids whether they grow up to be a recreational or competitive athlete.
When it comes to your child’s development as a person, the stakes couldn’t be higher. But that doesn’t mean we won’t have fun in the process. While there are important lessons we hope your child learns with us, making sports and physical activity fun again is our number one goal.
