The Suwanee Basketball Club (SBC) Travel Basketball Program is for committed players looking for individual skill development and competitive team play in local, recognized tournaments. 

Overview

Ages/Grades Offered: Boys 4th - 12th Grades & Girls 6th - 12th Grade

Practice Schedule: 2x per week for 90 minutes

Games: 6 weekend tournaments (usually 3-5 games per tournament)

Location: All practices at SSA. Tournaments in Metro-Atlanta.

Boys grades 4th-5th: January 17th (Time: 6:30p-8p) and January 24th (Time: 6:30p-8p)

Boys grades 6th-8th: January 17th (Time: 8p-9p) and January 24th (Time: 8-9:30p) 

Girls grades 6th-8th: January 17th (Time: 6:30p-8p) and January 24th (Time: 6:30p-8p)

Boys grades 9th: January 15th (Time: 6p-7p) and January 22nd (Time: 6p-7p)

Boys grades 10th-12th: January 15th (Time: 7p-8p) and January 22nd (Time: 7p-8p)

Girls grades 9th-12th: January 15th (Time: 6p-7p) and January 22nd (Time: 6p-7p)

Registration Process: 

Registration for tryouts are open and available online at https://ssasports.com/basketball/all-programs/tournament/2022-sbc-travel-team-tryouts. The tryout fee per player is $10 and needs to be completed online before the selected tryout date. We strongly encourage players to attend both tryout sessions in order to show the SBC coaches their' overall abilities. 

Tryout Process:

Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled tryout time to allow enough time for check-in. All tryouts will be closed to spectators. During tryouts, players will be evaluated by SBC coaches so they can determine which players are best for their teams. Players will go through different drills and scrimmages to show off their skill set. The coaches will be evaluating each players fundamentals (ball handling, shooting, passing, etc), attitudes, IQ, effort and leadership. 

Team Selection Process:

After the second tryout, this is when the coaches will determine who will make the team and who will not based on how the players performed. SBC will send an email out 48hrs after the final tryout sessions. In this email, we will let you know if your child was selected for the team or if they were not selected. For the players that were not selected, we will recommend and provide one of our training programs. 

The players that were selected, the families will be notified of their coach and practice times and days. In this email there will be the necessary paperwork, the different player packages we are offering and any additional information needed to commit to the SBC Travel Basketball Program. 

Commitment Day: 

Commitment Day is when players spots are secured and they are officially enrolled into the SBC Travel Basketball program. On this day necessary paperwork will be turned in, player packages will be selected with first payments made, uniform fittings and a parent meeting with your coach. The dates are TBD.

We want our players to be prepared with the tools to succeed on and off the court and we will provide them with a platform to be successful. We encourage our players to work hard in the classroom as well as on the court. Our players will have the mindset of what it takes to be a student athlete.

The SBC coaching staff is experienced and understands the importance of individual development and team play. As teachers of the game of basketball and life, we will help prepare our players for the experiences they will encounter. We will work hard to ensure that our players are prepared for each game with the necessary training so they can succeed and play to their full potential. The SBC staff wants all of our players to be active, work hard for their SBC Family and accept everything in a positive mindset.
