MySport Virtual Academy
MySport Virtual Academy
Each child will be assigned to a small group with less than 20 similarly aged children. Each group will have a classroom space where they will complete their virtual learning assignments they have received from their elementary school with supervision of one of our My Sport instructors. The classes will have breaks during the morning for snack and recess. In the afternoon the classes will transition to activities and games on the courts similar to the programming we do during our summer camps.
Below is a sample schedule of what each day might look like. This may need to be adjusted once Gwinnett County provides more information about live virtual class attendance requirements and schedule. The goal is to ensure all of the school assigned academic requirements are met first followed by free play as well as structured games, sports and activities each day.

Suwanee Sports Academy is a state licensed childcare facility. Our My Sport after school and summer camp program is one of the most popular child care options in Gwinnett County. In addition to seven full sized basketball courts, SSA is equipped with classrooms, a playground, a multi-purpose activity room and cafe space.
What will my child need to bring each day?
Each child will need their own laptop, headphones and any workbooks or textbooks needed for their school assignments. They will also need to bring lunch with them each day.
What happens if my child finishes their virtual school-work early before the allotted time for virtual learning is over?
If a student finishes their required daily school work early, they will have the option to complete a number of other enrichment activities during the remaining time left. These other activities will be age/grade appropriate and supervised by the My Sport instructor for their class.
What happens if my child does NOT finish their virtual school-work before the allotted time for virtual learning is over?
Students who need more time to finish their virtual school-work will still be able to continue to work on their assignments after the lunch period. Students who have finished their virtual school-work will transition to My Sport activities and games. There is also time allotted in our after school program for online learning as well.
Do you have classrooms?
Yes, SSA not only has the large indoor gym spaces and the My Sport room, we also have access to up to four additional classroom spaces in the building.
What does extended day entail?
Our extended day option will be exactly the same as our traditional after school program. Extended day begins at 3:30pm and runs until 6:30pm.
What is the benefit of offering a virtual learning day camp?
First, we recognize that an important part of early childhood development is socialization with other kids. This important socialization gets lost with remote learning. Also, we believe kids benefit from consistency and stability, so transitioning to a school day program environment many are already used to attending every week could provide some needed consistency. Lastly, we recognize how challenging it can be for working parents to balance their career with the added responsibility of playing teacher at home. We’re here to help and provide an alternative.
How big are your groups?
Each child will be placed in a class with 20 or less kids. Each class will remain independent of other groups and will not mix or be in close contact with other classes during the day. In the event a class uses common equipment, that equipment will be sanitized between uses.
What is your policy on masks?
Students will need to arrive each day with a mask and wear their masks during drop-off, pick-up and any other transitions. The students will not be required to wear the mask when socially distanced in their classroom or during physical fitness, games and sports activities.
In what cases will you not open?
We will not open our virtual learning day camp if state authorities issue a state-at-home order for child care services in which we would be violating if we opened.
At this time I am not interested in having my child attend the virtual day camp. Are you still offering your after school program?
Yes, you are welcome to attend our after school program from 3:30pm-6:30pm. For those who are not enrolled in the Virtual Day Camp, the cost is our standard $90/week to attend. *There will be no daily rate option at this time.*
When is tuition due?
Tuition is charged weekly. Your account will be charged on Friday's at noon for the next week's tuition.
Do you offer partial day or partial week?
At this time we are only offering full weekly enrollment. Extended day is optional.
