Overview

Ages/Grades Offered: Boys 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & Junior Varsity Teams

Practice Schedule: 1x per week + Extra benefits for our training program

Games: 6 Weekly Fall League games Sundays starting in September + 1 Tournament in October

Location: All practices, training, games and tournaments at Suwanee Sports Academy.

Try-Out Information

Boys' 5th & 6th Grade: Sunday, August 3rd at 3:00pm

Boys' 7th & 8th Grade: Sunday, August 3rd at 4:30pm

Boys' 9th & 10th Grade: Sunday, August 3rd at 6:00pm

Registration Process: 

Registration for tryouts is completely FREE.

If selected for a team, the cost per player is $500, due when accepting your spot.

Tryout Process:

Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled tryout time to allow enough time for check-in. All tryouts will be closed to spectators. During tryouts, players will be evaluated by HoopGwinnett coaches so they can determine which players are best for their teams. Players will go through different drills and scrimmages to show off their skill set. The coaches will be evaluating each players fundamentals (ball handling, shooting, passing, etc), attitudes, IQ, effort and leadership. 

Team Selection Process:

After the tryout, this is when the coaches determine who will make the team. HoopGwinnett will send an email out 48hrs after the final tryout sessions. In this email, we will let you know if your child was selected for the team or if they were not selected. For the players that were not selected, we will recommend and provide one of our training programs. 

The players that were selected, the families will be notified of their coach and practice times and days. In this email there will be the necessary paperwork, the different player packages we are offering and any additional information needed to commit to the HoopGwinnett Travel Basketball Program. 

Commitment Day: 

Commitment Day is when players spots are secured and they are officially enrolled into the HoopGwinnett Travel Basketball program. On this day necessary paperwork will be turned in, player packages will be selected with first payments made, uniform fittings and a parent meeting with your coach.

We want our players to be prepared with the tools to succeed on and off the court and we will provide them with a platform to be successful. We encourage our players to work hard in the classroom as well as on the court. Our players will have the mindset of what it takes to be a student athlete.

The HoopGwinnett coaching staff is experienced and understands the importance of individual development and team play. As teachers of the game of basketball and life, we will help prepare our players for the experiences they will encounter. We will work hard to ensure that our players are prepared for each game with the necessary training so they can succeed and play to their full potential. The HoopGwinnett staff wants all of our players to be active, work hard for their HoopGwinnett  Family and accept everything in a positive mindset.
